Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation
  • This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity. Won’t change colour, smudge or come off on clothes.
    Feels lightweight and comfortable.
  • I’ve been wearing this foundation for two weeks now and I’d just like to take the time to say, ‘wow it really doesn’t smudge.’
  • I have shade 1C1 Shell, which as far as I can tell is the lightest they do. It’s a perfect match to my winter white skin.
  • When the foundation comes out of the bottle, which incidentally doesn’t have a pump, it is a thick liquid consistency. A lot of my previous foundations have been far runnier and haven’t lasted half as long on my face. (I have oily/combination skin)
I find you have to work quite fast with the foundation to get it spread and blended on your face before it ‘sets’ otherwise it will not shift where you want it to go.
  • But once it’s on, it is on. The problem I’ve always had with foundation is that once it reaches afternoon it has slid off my face and I look awful. Not so with Double Wear, it stays looking fresh all day and well into the night.
  • A couple of… not quite issues but points I’d like to make are firstly, the foundation is VERY matte, so if you have dry patches they will show up very clearly. You need to moisturise, moisturise, moisturise.
  • And secondly it is so good at staying put that it’s hard to remove at night, I’ve found I need to wash my face twice to make sure it’s all gone.
  • But I really do love this foundation, it makes me look flawless and still looks natural. Plus it hides a multitude of sins, you could easily skip concealer while using this foundation.
  • After all that though I feel it is more of a winter foundation, I think for summer weather something sheerer is needed. When that time comes I’m going to give Double Wear Light a go.
Have you used this foundation, what do you think of it?
