Sunscreen Amount Calculator
SPF is tested at 2 mg of product per cm² of skin — far more than most of us use. Here is what that looks like for the areas you are covering.
Calculated in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent or stored.
How this is worked out
We use the 2 mg/cm² test dose and typical adult surface areas: face ≈ 1.2 ml (about ¼ teaspoon, the "two-finger" amount), neck and ears ≈ 0.8 ml, each arm ≈ 3 ml, each leg ≈ 6 ml, torso ≈ 12 ml. Reapply every two hours outdoors, and after swimming, sweating or towelling off.
Questions people ask
Do I need sunscreen indoors?
If you sit by a bright window for hours, yes — UVA passes through glass. Otherwise your morning application is usually enough indoors.
