How this is worked out

Each answer scores towards dry or oily; T-zone answers point to combination. Frequent stinging marks the skin as sensitive whatever its oil level. The routine uses a short list of well-studied actives — niacinamide, salicylic acid, azelaic acid, vitamin C, retinoids, ceramides — matched to your concerns, always with sunscreen.

Questions people ask

Can my skin type change?

Yes — with seasons, hormones, age and medication. Retake the quiz when the weather turns.

How many actives should I use?

Start one at a time, two weeks apart, and patch-test first. If you have persistent acne, eczema or rosacea, see a dermatologist.
